MTEMC crews hope to have power restored across Rutherford County by 8 p.m., following intense work by more than 100 employees since tornadoes struck the Murfreesboro area early yesterday afternoon.
There will be exceptions, including a few isolated outages and locations where service connections have been ripped away from individual homes, some of which were totally destroyed.
"It has been a devestating time for a number of our members and for parts of our electric system," said Chris Jones, MTEMC vice president of communications. "But our people have worked hard, fast and long to restore power."
