TVA line knocks out power to 6,000 in Fairview

A TVA line feeding Middle Tennessee Electric’s Fairview substation malfunctioned Sunday evening knocking out power to approximately 6,000 members.

The power outage lasted from 5:16 p.m. to 6:33 p.m. as MTEMC crews coordinated with TVA to bring the substation back online.

“We’re sorry for any inconveniences this has caused our members,” MTEMC Communications Coordinator Todd Palmer said. “Unfortunately due to the severe weather last week and this unforeseen incident last night, this area has had to experience several back-to-back outages recently.”
