MTEMC provides a number of programs about electrical safety and the many uses of electricity. These are available to audiences of all ages and can be scheduled for almost any time. Take a look below and then contact us by phone or e-mail. Electrical Safety and AwarenessThis 30-minute program is an introduction to electricity and its safe use. Various films or videos are shown that are appropriate for all age groups. Includes powerline demonstration for ages eight and up. Energy and the EnvironmentThis 45-minute program outlines the various methods of producing energy and the impact of each on the environment. Special emphasis is placed on the greenhouse effect and the rain forests. For ages 10 and up. Electric Generation, Transmission and DistributionThis 30-minute program covers energy production methods in the Tennessee Valley and details the path of electricity from raw material to the end user. Presentation can be tailored for ages 10 and up. Basic ElectricityThis 50-minute program examines the movement of electrons, circuits, grounding and more. The differences between static and current electricity are studied. Group participation in an electrostatic generator demonstration is optional. Suggested for ages 10 and up. The Smart HouseThis 30-minute program introduces the latest home-related technology and concepts in the electrical industry. Compares homes of today with those of the future and includes a 10-minute video. Groups ages 12 and up will enjoy this program. The Awakening of Rural AmericaThis 30-minute program examines the process of electrifying the rural United States from the 1880s to World War II. Presentation includes a 10-minute video. Suitable for ages 10 through adult. How to Read Your MeterThis 30-minute program teaches you how to read your electric meter and figure your electric bill. Other energy-related topics that the consumer will find helpful are also examined. Designed for ages 12 through adult. energy right® ProgramMTEMC and TVA are allied to give consumers the opportunity to purchase updated, energy efficient homes and related equipment. Learn more about our plans for new homes, new manufactured homes, heat pumps and water heaters during this 30-minute program. Designed for adult groups. Deregulation/Restructuring of the Electric Utility IndustryThis 30-minute program offers an up-to-date look at restructuring the electric utilities and potential impact on consumers. Adult groups can benefit from knowing more about this controversial issue. Career Days, Home Shows and FairsWe also offer presentations, displays and demonstrations for various groups of all ages. A wide variety of energy-related printed material is available. |
