Long distance through Middle Tennessee Electric
|
Your cooperative has partnered with long distance carrier PowerNet Global to offer you the best long distance rates and service around. You pay a rock-bottom 4.9¢ per minute for out-of-state long distance calls -- and it's the same rate all day, every day. Not only that ... but 10 percent of all revenue generated through the program will come back to the cooperative's MTEMC Customers Care foundation to help local people and organizations with special needs. That's right! ... you save money AND help your community just by signing up and making the long distance calls you normally would. Sign up today! Why wouldn't you? Questions and answersHow can the cooperative afford to do this?Simple -- because we're a cooperative. As a member-owner, you know that Middle Tennessee Electric does not operate for profit. Through our partnership with PowerNet Global, only the basic costs need to be covered, allowing us -- even at this low rate -- to set aside 10 percent for special community needs. What is MTEMC Customers Care?It is a foundation formed by the MTEMC Board of Directors and run by an appointed committee of MTEMC members from Cannon, Rutherford, Williamson and Wilson counties. This group will decide the best way to use funds generated through the long distance program to help people and organizations in our communities. How about in-state long distance and calling card rates?In-state calls are just 5.9 cents a minute all day, every day; and the calling card rate is just 10.9 cents per minute. Is there a monthly fee? While Power Net Global charges a Network Access Charge of a few pennies per month, it does not charge the type of monthly fees often associated with long distance plans, which typically run about $5 per month. Who will bill me for this service?Once you sign up, you will receive a separate bill for your long distance. The bill will come from PowerNet Global, which is the long distance carrier. When you sign up, you can choose the method by which you wish to pay, including credit card draft. What is Middle Tennessee Electric's role? This is a service through MTEMC, not of MTEMC. Your cooperative has made this arrangement to help our communities and to provide you with the lowest long distance rates around. How do I sign up?Call 1-866-706-0001. |
