Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation is seeking applicants for the position of Service Designer in the Franklin District Office. The successful candidate must have a four-year degree in a technical field from an accredited college for this entry level position. Reclassification to the second level requires at least one (1) year in the Service Designer position, satisfactory job performance, and successful completion of all required training.  Reclassification to the third level of the position requires at least two (2) years at the second level, satisfactory job performance, and successful completion of all training required.  To move to the final level, employee must demonstrate the ability to independently manage all of the complexities of any type of project related to the position.  A minimum of five (5) years’ experience related to this work is required.  Responsibilities will include ensuring that all overhead and underground lines are designed in accordance with applicable MTEMC and industry codes, rules, regulations, and specifications.

Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation is seeking applicants for the leadership position of Vice President of Communications and Member Services. The Chief Cooperative Business Officer is inviting applications for this position due to his recent promotion. MTEMC, headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is located 30 miles southeast of the capital city of Nashville and serves more than 200,000 members in Rutherford, Williamson, Wilson and Cannon counties, with two of these counties having been recently named among the fastest-growing counties in the United States.  MTEMC continues to experience rapid growth, adding more than 6,000 members in the past 12 months. Located in the center of the southeastern United States, the service area is only a short drive from 75% of the country’s major markets and is the headquarters of many national corporations. The area offers a wide variety of opportunities with excellent educational and recreational facilities.  Murfreesboro is the home of Middle Tennessee State University, which is considered the fastest-growing university in Tennessee.

 

The successful candidate must have a four-year college degree in a related field from an accredited college. Master’s degree in a related field preferred. The candidate must also have ten (10) years’ experience in progressively responsible positions in an electric utility. Preferably at a cooperative focused on delivering outstanding member service.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the candidate will manage the Communications & Member Services Department in accordance with the viewpoints, objectives, plans, and policies of the Cooperative; to provide leadership for qualified personnel and effective administration of a well-planned and smoothly operating Communications & Member Services Department responsible for marketing, communications, member services, public relations and employee service activities and programs that increase the level of member and employee understanding and satisfaction regarding electric service and the cooperative.

To advise the senior leadership team of the impact of operating policies and procedures for marketing, communications, member services, employees and general public relations activities. To resolve disputes and complaints appealed by members from lower levels of employee responsibility.

To serve as a champion of delivering outstanding member service, recommending changes to existing programs and new services which strategically align in the delivery of MTEMC’s mission and vision.

To develop member relations awareness and skills among all employees. To promote the efficient use of electricity by MTEMC members, including residential, commercial and industrial conservation and load management activities.

To promote the use of electricity as the most desirable source of energy in view of national/regional energy objectives.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the candidate will manage the Operations Department in accordance with the viewpoints, objectives, plans, and policies of the Cooperative; to provide leadership for qualified personnel responsible for system operations; will supervise departments responsible for systems control center dispatching, smart grid operations, fleet maintenance, material purchases and delivery, environmental and tree vegetation, and substation and transmission system construction and maintenance; to serve as liaison with district offices in assisting with planning and operations and will be responsible for budgeting, bidding, and planning of maintenance schedules.

Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and directs the staff of the department and outside vendors. Will have coordination responsibilities with the senior leadership team and district offices.
