Levelized Terms & Conditions

The Levelized Plan is calculated based on your average usage, which allows you to have a more consistently priced bill even during high-energy-consumption seasons.

For Existing Members, the Levelized Amount due monthly is calculated based on a "rolling average of your account's previous 12-month usage.  A"rolling average" is calculated each month by adding the current month's usage to the previous twelve months' usage and dropping the oldest month\'s usage; then the total for these twelve months is divided by 12 to arrive at the average usage as of the latest month's usage.

For Members signing up for new services which do not have a 12-month usage history, it will take 7 to 8 months for the Levelized Amount to normalize.

Each month that a new bill is issued, the average is recalculated. Therefore, monthly bills will fluctuate slightly each month to account for variances in energy consumption. If there are past due amounts on the account, 1/12 of the past due amount will be added to the monthly rolling average until the past due is paid in full.

Although the program allows you to pay an average amount each month, you are still responsible for the total balance of your account. The "Settlement Amount" is the billing amount difference between the actual charges and the amount paid through the Levelized Plan. Your Levelized Amount and current Settlement Amount will be included on every bill.

You may withdraw from the program at any time. If you withdraw from the program, the account is removed, or the service is terminated, the Settlement Amount and any other amounts due must be paid.

The Levelized Plan is available for residential members only. Prepaid and non-residential accounts are not eligible. If your account is disconnected for non-pay, MTE may remove your account from the Levelized Plan and return it to the Traditional Plan.

MTE reserves the right to terminate or discontinue the Levelized Plan at any time.
